Animal Crossing Community -- and now Animal Crossing: Wild World

Animal Crossing Community -- and now Animal Crossing: Wild World

If knitting wasn't already addicting...now I have a Nintendo DS and Animal Crossing the game. I can interact with people over the internet in my town or theirs. There is a whole website to meeting others and setting up to visit their towns. How cool is that? Maybe not very to you adults but I'm still a kid at heart. I'm in denial of my adulthood.

Just another NaNoWriMo drop out

In less than a half-an-hour it will be official...I am a NaNoWriMo drop out. At least I donated and got a couple t-shirts and I always have next year. Life just got way to out of control and in the way of my imagination...nothing was flowing. Again, I always have next year.

I HATE MOVING!!!!!!

I have finally become a homeowner...YEAH!!!! The last 2 weeks have been so stressful and so full of drama, I feel like my head will explode. If I had emotional cancer...it would have exploded into a full-body...whatever you would call that. Anyway, I had 4 adults and 5 children in a 3 bedroom house...NOW I have the same thing but in a 6 bedroom 2 story house...definitely better. Mover's are a God send...they save so much time and back ache. I would highly recommend it getting them if you can. If I wanted to spend more money I would have hired someone to pack my stuff too. Luckily, my mother-in-law was here to help...or I guess pack for me.

NaNoWriMo is approaching!!!!!!

November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)!!!!!!! I really don't remember how I found the site but I was totally intrigued when I saw it. I am definitely NOT a writer and I've barely wrote anything in my life but who am I NOT to take the challenge. What is life without challenges and experiences? I actually found out about this about 2 months ago. The rules state that I can go into the month with notes, character maps, etc. just not have any part of the book written. I am going into the month with..........drum roll please.........NOTHING!!!!!!!! As of today, I am going to take notes of everything that pops into my mind and things that I experience and things that I notice going on around me. HHHHMMMMM......Yeah, right!!!!!! I am such a procrastinator I won't have any notes written...I know it. Either way, I'm doin' it. I order me a couple shirts and donated some money....it's for a good cause. I'm excited to challenge my non-existent skills.

What's funny about that analysis is I LOVE me some pinakbet...my husband, not so much. He doesn't like the salty fish sauce flavoring. I love it so much that I have to put more fish sauce on my food...as a second benefit, it keeps him away from my food.

Are you a knitter?

Hip knitter

You're a hip knitter! Anything in style, in vogue,
in fashion, or expensive is your thing! I bet
you're a big fan of the Tiny Diva....

Are you a knitter?

What Kind of Knitter Are You?

You appear to be a Knitting Adventurer.
You are through those knitting growing pains and
feeling more adventurous. You can follow a
standard pattern if it's not too complicated
and know where to go to get help. Maybe you've
started to experiment with different fibers and
you might be eyeing a book with a cool
technique you've never tried. Perhaps you
prefer to stick to other people's patterns but
you are trying to challenge yourself more.
Regardless of your preference, you are
continually trying to grow as a knitter, and as
well you should since your non-knitting friends
are probably dropping some serious hints, these
days.

power and grace. Your expensive tastes can be
deceiving, since what you really value is
quality and efficiency. As you're careening
around those corners in life, finishing a dozen
knitted objects each month, stop and smell the
roses. Don't miss the beauty of process!

Like, SHAG, BABY!!! In MY master bedroom, I will hve some shag carpet...oh yeah, baby and I'm excited...maybe maroon shag. I'm going to put some color on the walls instead of the plain white my parents couldn't live without. My parents would never paint a wall fuscia...but now I just might have to do that...maybe not but it's a cool daydream.

What to do? What to do?

I really don't know how to set up my blog. I've done a bit 'o research but I don't know how I want it to look. Anyway, I know for sure I need more pics of my friend over there...Mr. Pufnstuf. I don't know why I think he's totally cool.

I finally finished my Eris collar and am ready to start on the body...HOWEVER, I don't think I'm all that happy with my collar. ~To Rip or not to Rip...that is the question!!!~ I think I will work on something else for a bit and mull over it.

Yeah Half a Collar

Well, I finally finished half of my collar. I've just been chugging away at it all weekend. Now I'm beat. I need sleep so I can rest up for the start of the other half tomorrow.

Knitting and the Home

There once was a SAHM(stay-at-home mother) that lived in a house full of children (not really, just 3). She loved to knit, but couldn't sit cuz refereeing, cooking and cleaning always needed to be done.

HA!!! Who am I kidding? I'm no poet and I don't like to clean either...it takes away my creative time. Sometimes I crack myself up.

I have half of half the collar done on my sweater. Yeah...it's looking pretty. I will post pics after I finish the whole half.

101 Things To Do in 1001 days

I stumbled onto this today and decided I wanted to participate in 101 things to do in 1001 days...that's only about 3 years.

I will compile my list and will post it when it's ready. I also found this calculator in case you want to try it yourself.

What a way to track your progress in life and the things you tell yourself and others that you want to do or learn or experience someday.

Here's another website I found that is very helpful.

Eris won

Eris won...my house is still a mess. HEHEHE

My poor husband

So I got my Eris yarn late afternoon and then I was on a mission to start my swatches. I was not going to be until I actually started Eris.

After my DH gets home, he's in the kitchen and says to me "You know, sometimes I get irritated when you don't do stuff around the house but then I come home and wonder HOW can you do stuff around the house in the day time?" while the 2 out of 3 little kids are running circles around him while he's trying to fix his plate of food. ***Please take a moment to picture this*** So by now he is sitting down trying to eat while the girls try to eat off of his plate. I am sitting concentrating on measuring my swatches. He asks if I need a break and to go to the room if I did. Little does he know that while working on certain knitting I can choose to totally ignore everything around me. I can visit if I want or I can concentrate so hard that I hear absolutely nothing (i.e. kids screaming). I love knitting for that reason.

Another thing about my DH, and probably every other person that doesn't knit, is how obsessed you can get in a project that when you say "Just one more row" it really means "I won't be in bed til 3 or 4am so don't wait up." :-Þ

I think today I will try to do some housework. If I tackle some really big stuff it'll look like I did a whole bunch and he'll think I've been cleaning all day.

OH!?!?! But wait a minute, I just started Eris...how do I prioritize my day?

Thursday, August 18, 2005

Yeah Eris!!!

I am so obsessed with Eris I can hardly stand it. I think my Knit Picks Andean Silk is coming today but it's not here yet and it's driving me crazy. Last night I couldn't sleep because in my eyelids I was knitting up gauge swatches ALL NIGHT LONG!!!! AAARRRGGGHHH!!!! I almost got out of bed at 5am to knit up swatches or even just start the pattern to see how it would look. This cabled sweater is WAY out of my league but ask me if I care....NOT A BIT. I'm up for the challenge or the abuse even if it takes me a year to do it (it better not). Everyone is making this sweater...I'm all about jumping on the band wagon or peer pressure...whatever you want to call it. When is my yarn going to get here?!?!?!

Wednesday, August 17, 2005

Wow...I have a blog!!!

Well that was alot easier than I thought. For you not familiar with the name, it is derived from H. R. Pufnstuf which was a favorite of mine when I was a kid. Hmmm...mow that I have a blog...what to put on it. We shall have to see.
